He’s a walkin’, talkin’ lie in a banker’s suit and tie
just a cowboy on the lone prairie
he says’ he’s your saddle pal, put your stock in his corral
but he’ll steal your horse before he takes his fee

He’s driving cattle in his sleep, the herd’s a half a million deep
and the trail ahead’s as pretty as you please
but to the stockyards they will go, to their final rodeo
